Previously unreported, reported and new decisions – at your fingertips
With over a quarter of a million trusts registered in New Zealand and the resulting increase in trust litigation, this is the ideal time to subscribe to New Zealand Trust Reports. This online resource brings together a major collection of full text judgments relating to the law of trusts delivered by the New Zealand High Court, Court of Appeal, Supreme Court and Privy Council.
New Zealand Trust Reports provides an invaluable resource for those actively involved in trust law. It has been designed to meet the increasing need for a centralised database of headnoted trust cases, making previously unreported cases and new cases available and easily accessible online.
Cases reported cover:
- Legal principles and new developments in the law of trusts
- The implementation by the courts of trust law in New Zealand
- Trust interpretation
- Cases which illustrate the courts’ exercise of their discretions under statute or inherent jurisdiction
- Unreported judgments referred to by the courts in subsequent decisions
- Decisions with unusual features which may be instructive in relation to the general application of trust law.
The collection is updated regularly as new judgments become available. Each case includes a comprehensive headnote to assist with research and to facilitate better use of the full text judgments. These detailed case summaries will be especially helpful for non-legally trained advisors and practitioners. For a specific example, see Eden Refuge Trust v Hohepa (2010) 3 NZTR 20-009.
The series has a practical orientation for those actively involved or interested in the law of trusts, whether as a professional advisor or practitioner or in an active trust administration capacity.
