ASIC's FSR Deadline Message Rings Loud and Clear
Gravitation to online training expected by CCH
ASIC's message - that there will not be an extension to the Financial Services Reform Act (FSRA) March 2004 deadline - firmly puts the spotlight on financial services organisations who must ensure their customer advisers meet the training requirements if they wish to continue to offer advice, says leading business information provider, CCH Australia.
Pip Hughes, CCH Publishing's Managing Director, said the increased 'pressure' will mean a significant gravitation towards online training solutions. And to this end, CCH Learning, a division of CCH which offers ASIC accredited training, recently launched its Tier 2 online training solution.
"Regulatory and consumer demand has necessitated more extensive training for financial industry employees at the Tier 1 and the Tier 2 levels and CCH believes its online training solutions will be used extensively by the financial services industry to ensure competency requirements are met," Ms Hughes said.
"Many financial services organisations are finding it difficult to train all their staff in time for the March 2004 deadline. CCH Learning's online training offers an effective solution with minimal disruption to the business which is easy to monitor, cost-effective and interactive.
"Indeed, we have noticed a significant increase in the number of financial services organisations turning to online compliance solutions to ensure they meet the deadline."
To complete Tier 2 training successfully, participants must pass a generic and specialist component. CCH Learning offers General Insurance and Retail Banking subjects within the specialist category. Tier 2 training must be successfully completed by the March 2004 deadline.
On successful completion of CCH Learning's Tier 2 training, participants receive a certificate of acknowledgement, which they can access and print online. This can be provided easily to ASIC if required.
As legal compliance experts, CCH has been providing professionals with information on compliance, best practice and professional development for over 30 years. CCH's registered training organisation, CCH Learning, is an approved training body and is an ASIC authorised assessor.
