Business publisher and information group, CCH Australia, has appointed two new Chief Operating Officers.
This will enable Chief Executive Officer of CCH, Mr Willem van Zanten, to focus on expansion of the group in the Asia Pacific region, particularly mergers and acquisitions.
The new Chief Operating Officers of CCH are Mrs Pip Hughes and Mr Martijn Laguna.
Mrs Hughes has qualifications in law and business management, combined with extensive experience in publishing. She has been directly involved in the authorship and development of CCH publications, particularly its highly-regarded tax product range.
In addition to her new role, Mrs Hughes will continue as Publishing Director.
Mr Laguna has qualifications in economics and management and has worked for a number of years with CCH's parent company, Wolters Kluwer, in the Netherlands. Previous roles have included senior sales and marketing positions as well Publishing Directorships.
Most recently Mr Laguna was appointed Sales & Marketing director of CCH Australia.
As components of their joint role in day-to-day management of CCH, Mrs Hughes will oversee CCH publishing activities and Mr Laguna will have responsibility for all commercial activities.
Both will remain active in implementing CCH's online information and desktop tools strategy.
As part of Mr van Zanten's increasing regional role he will head a dedicated team for the region covering mergers and acquisitions, finance, technology and human resources.
Established in 1969, CCH produces expert content in the areas of tax, law, accounting and human resources and is a subsidiary of international business publishing group, Wolters Kluwer, which recorded sales for 2000 of A$6.7bn.
