The Australian Financial Review and CCH join forces online

The Australian Financial Review and Business publisher, CCH Australia Limited, today announced that it has formed an alliance to share content, products and functionality, adding a range of new features to their respective online brands.

According to Michael Gill, Publisher and Editor in Chief of Fairfax Business Media, "The Australian Financial Review and CCH have a very similar audience profile. Bundling our content with CCH on afr.com further enhances the value of the information service we provide to our readers."

Busy business professionals no longer need to search or try to interpret changes in legislation, updates to work practices or ways to maximise tax benefits, as this information is now available on afr.com, via CCH's daily news feeds.

"That means daily updates for time-conscious business professionals", said CCH Regional Director Mr Willem van Zanten. "The alliance represents another significant step for CCH in growing interest in the Internet as a source for business support. Our goal is to provide businesses with the best content from the best sources when they need it, to equip them to make more informed business decisions, faster, smarter and with more confidence."

The type of topics covered can include alerts such as:

  • "New lodgement dates for PAYG Withholding annual reports";

  • "Addendum to salary sacrifice ruling"; and

  • "Sydney real estate agent to stand trial on insider trading charge".

In addition, many essential CCH publications are now available for sale through afr.com, including the Master Tax Guide, Master Business Guide and the popular Australian eBusiness Guide and Collapse Incorporated book. Online transactions are an exciting new feature of afr.com. Readers can now find the answers to more indepth questions and problems by ordering from a list of over 30 CCH specialist titles, in a few easy steps.

The sharing of information provides CCH customers with access to an afr.com general business news feed via cch.com.au, while CCH delivers via afr.com, a selection of specialist accounting, tax, legal, human resources, superannuation and financial planning news items.

As well as new content and online transactions for CCH books, readers of afr.com will now be able to access a number of easy to use calculators, which CCH have developed to generate fast answers to common financial, tax and superannuation queries. The calculators are programmed with the appropriate formulas, rates and thresholds and are regularly updated to reflect the latest tax and legislative developments.
