Wolters Kluwer Tax & Accounting Executives Abramson and Mackintosh Among Most Powerful Women in Accounting

Riverwoods, ILL. (November 15, 2013)  — CPA Practice Advisor has named Wolters Kluwer Tax & Accounting CEO Karen Abramson and CCH President & CEO Teresa Mackintosh among the “Most Powerful Women in Accounting” for 2013. The honour recognises 25 women who are making the greatest impact on the tax and accounting profession.

“At Wolters Kluwer, our commitment is to help our customers grow, manage and protect their businesses, and so we are truly honoured to be recognised for the contributions we are making to advance the profession,” said Abramson. “We also extend our congratulations to all of the other women who were recognised.”

In June 2013, Abramson was named CEO of Wolters Kluwer Tax & Accounting, the global leader in tax, accounting and audit software and solutions. She previously served as President & CEO of CCH Tax & Accounting, North America. With extensive experience in the professional information and software industries, Abramson is accelerating the introduction of software, online and cloud solutions being rapidly adopted by tax and accounting professionals worldwide.

Teresa Mackintosh was named to succeed Abramson as CCH U.S. President & CEO in October 2013. Mackintosh, a CPA and industry leader, previously led the CCH Software organisation, where she launched the groundbreaking CCH Axcess™ earlier this year.

“This is a very exciting time, with cloud and mobile technologies transforming the profession at a fast pace,” said Mackintosh. “In close partnership with professionals, CCH is creating the innovative solutions that will help our customers make the most of new technologies to enhance client service and increase profitability.”

The complete list of those honoured as the Most Powerful Women in Accounting is featured in the CPA Practice Advisor November issue, which includes interviews with all of the winners, including Abramson and Mackintosh.
